Real Techniques Everyday Essentials Kit

Real Techniques Everyday Essentials Kit
One thing I can never have too many of are makeup brushes. They get used so much and I don't have time to clean them every single day, it's important to have back ups of your favourite brushes. Some of my favourites I use every day are from Real Techniques, so when I saw the new Real Techniques Everyday Essentials Kit I had to pick it up! I was after some new brushes anyway and I hadn't tried the Miracle Complexion Sponge yet, I couldn't afford not to pick up the Everyday Essentials Kit for only £19.99!

I'm always after new foundation brushes, I use these everyday to try and hide my less than average acne troubled skin! It's so important to use clean brushes, sometimes it's easier just to buy new ones as I can't be dealing with washing brushes every couple of days! I was on the hunt for a new foundation and powder brush when I saw the Everyday Essentials Kit had everything and more. I love my original Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and the Expert Face Brush 200 in this set seems to be the bigger, cuter version of it! It's slightly bigger than the original and I love it. The bristles are super soft and firm making it so easy to blend in without leaving streaks. I love the tapered shape, it's the perfect size for all over as well as under the eyes and around the nose etc.
The next brush in this set is one that I've loved for so many years, the Real Techniques Blush Brush 400. This was the first 'proper' blusher brush I bought back in the day and I loved it so much. The shape is perfect for the apples of your cheeks. The brush itself is so soft and fluffy, it makes applying blusher so enjoyable. You can really create a lovely natural even look with this brush. I'm glad to have it back in my collection, in it's new prettier package.
I've been after a new highlight brush for so long. I've ben using the same Real Techniques Setting Brush 403 everyday for the past four years - that's not normal! Finally I got my hands on a new one thanks to this set. This little brush is the perfect size and shape for illuminating your look and applying powder highlight to the cheekbones, under brow, cupids bow and all the little delicate spaces on your face. It's soft and fluffy which makes dusting on powder a dream.
The last brush is the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease 300 brush. Again this is one of my most loved eyeshadow brushes and I'm so glad I have a third one to add to my collection! I love the brush for blending eyeshadow in the crease. It's the perfect size to get in to the crease and fluffy enough to blend shades together with minimal effort.
The last tool in the kit is the Miracle Complexion Sponge. I've always been a brush kind of girl and have been very skeptical about trying sponges. As it came in the kit and was amazing value, I thought this would be the perfect time to try this out. I tried it dry and honestly, I didn't love it. I found it to be hard work to use, it feels like much more effort than a brush and I feel like I had to apply more foundation than usual. I think it's because I do have a lot of blemishes and a lot to cover up. I don't think I would like any sponge to be honest, because of the way my skin is at the moment. I just don't really understand how you could get full coverage with a sponge! I might try using it wet and see if it makes a difference.

Although I wasn't into the Miracle Complexion Sponge, I'm obsessed with these brushes. They have always been my go to everyday brushes anyway, so I'm all over having a new pretty little set of them. I think this set is amazing value at £19.99, that's the same price as just two of these brushes put together. Although I personally don't really like using sponges, I'm really glad I finally got round to trying the Miracle Complexion Sponge. Maybe when my skin is a bit more clear, I may feel differently about the sponge.

The Real Techniques Everyday Essentials Kit would be the perfect Christmas gift for any makeup lover in your life this year.

Are you a sponge or brush kinda beauty?

Homesense Autumn Candle Haul Including DW Home Autumn Orchard, DW Home Apple Cider and The Market Gingered Citron.
I'm embarrassed to say it has been a fair few weeks (possibly months!) since I sat down and wrote a blog post, I've kind of forgotten where to start! This seems to happen to me every year, I almost go into some kind of hibernation in the Summer time then I come out all ready to blog again at the start of Autumn. I hope you can all forgive me if anyone is still here to read my posts! I thought I would start my kind of 'comeback' into blogging with one of my favourite posts to write, an Autumn candle haul!
As soon as my Birthday in July is over, I can't help but think about Autumn! I love the start of a new season and Autumn has always felt so magical and cosy to me. I love to welcome in the Autumn season by stocking up on some new Autumn candles. A year or two ago I spent a small fortune importing some Bath & Body Works Autumn goodies in, I bought soooo many I still have untouched candles to this day. Although I do think they were totally worth the money (but I am a bit mad when it comes to unnecessary spending!) I just can't justify the costs this year with a wedding to pay for. I got myself down to Homesense to pick up a few treats.

I can't believe I have only just got round to trying Homesense candles, with all the hype over the last few years I couldn't help but feel a little giddy on my first Homesense candle spree. The first candle I was drawn to was the DW Home Three Wick Autumn Orchard £7.99. It looks so cosy I was really hoping I would love it and I did! This smells like Christmas in a jar to me, it's very similar to Bath & Body Works Leaves - my all time favourite Autumn/Christmas candle, that I have just ran out of! Autumn Orchard smells spicy and sweet, it reminds me of walking into Hamley's in London at Christmas time. To me it's a mix of sweet cinnamon, spicy clove and vanilla Christmas cookies - Autumn in a jar for only £7.99!
The next candle I loved was the DW Home Two Wick Apple Cider £7.99 I love the Autumn red/burnt orange jar it's so gorgeous. I'm normally a fruity candle kind of person so I love finding a fruity but spicy Autumn scent. I love that this isn't super intense and over powering. When you have a million and one spicy Autumn candles in front of you to try, they can be very overwhelming and maybe a bit over powering. Apple Cider has a subtle warm spicy scent with a hint of fruity apple. I can't wait to try this one.
The last candle I picked up isn't a typical Autumn candle. As I mentioned, it can be a little overwhelming heading into the Autumn candle section, everything started to smell way to strong and spicy to me. I picked up The Market Gingered Citron £6.99 - admittedly I thought it said Gingerbread! This scent is right up my street, I'm obsessed with zesty citrus scents! This smells exactly like the citrus Shake N Vac and I'm kind of obsessed with that smell. This isn't the typical Autumn candle I would normally go for, but I still think this is going to be lovely this time of year. It has a slight ginger hint to it which makes it feel warmer than most fruity citrus candles, making it gorgeous for when the weather gets colder.

I'm so pleased with my little Autumn treats from Homesense and can't wait to pick a few more nearer Christmas time. My home is starting to feel so cosy and festive - I love it!

Have you picked up any Autumn candles this year beauties?
