May Beauty Favourites 2018

May Beauty Favourites 2018 including Clinique, Colourpop & Maybelline
It's been a fair few months since my last favourites post, but this past month I've been using some new products non stop that I absolutely adore. I'm not the kind of person who will just keep churning out favourites post every single month, because honestly I don't switch up my products that often and  I don't want to just give you a rubbish fake favourites post just for the hell of it. I quite like just posting a favourites every few months and show you the beauty products I really have been obsessed with recently.

May Beauty Favourites 2018 including Clinique Anti Blemish 3 Step System
I'm going to start with skincare. I'm not sure if I started using these two products this month or the month before, but I've been using the Clinique Anti Blemish 3 Step System recently and I've really enjoyed it. I was going to write a whole blog post on this kit but I'd used up so much in the bottles before I got round to taking a photo of them, I decided the post would be a bit ugly haha! So I thought I'd share with you a little bit here. The first step is the Anti Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam, I was a little bit wary of this at first because I read somewhere foam cleansers can be really drying and bad for your skin. Now this can leave your skin feeling a little dry, but my skin feels so squeaky clean after using this I just love the feeling. The cleanser itself is pretty runny I would say for a foam and I'm not that into the scent, but I have noticed a change in the appearance of my skin since using this kit! As you may know I've been suffering with bad acne for the past couple of years and I've tried so much to get rid of it and nothing has helped. I do feel like I have noticed a reduction in my acne since using this and it is very slowly starting to clear up.
The next step in the kit is the Anti Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion. This is the step I most look forward to. I just love popping this on a cotton pad and messaging this into my cleansed face. It's so refreshing and really makes you feel like you're getting all the dirt out of your skin and really treating it. Again I wasn't that into the scent of this range, but I do enjoy this step. It does sting slightly, but honestly I kind of enjoy that, because it makes me feel like this is really treating my acne and I do think that this has really helped. The little kit itself is only £25 and comes with a moisturiser too, but they are only small bottles so they do only last a month or two. I didn't really like the moisturiser too much, I felt like after the foaming cleanser and the toner has kind of stripped the moisture and oil out of your skin, the moisturiser really did nothing to try and put good moisture back in. I've recently been watching Jade Billington's vlogs and can I just say she has the most gorgeous skin I have ever seen, she is so naturally beautiful it kind of makes me want to cry, but I love her haha! She mentioned that she has been using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser forever, so immediately I needed this! I know she has a very different skin type to me but I just have to try it. I've just bought the Clinique 3 Step Kit for Oily skin this time, because it comes with the moisturiser that I really want to try. I have oily skin as well as blemished skin, so I'm hoping I'll like that kit too.

May Beauty Favourites 2018 including Colourpop & Maybelline
Onto makeup. Of course I have so many Colourpop goodies in my favourites because I've been loving these since my first order a couple of months ago. The first product I'm going to mention is the Give It To Me Straight Eyeshadow Palette. This palette is the thing of actual dreams! It's warm burgundy, bronze and brown heaven! This is everything I need and more in a palette. It has a great mix of metallic and mattes and I've been obsessed with the warm burgundy shades. The quality is absolutely crazy for the price at just $16. If you would like to see this palette in action then go on over to my full review here.
I was so drawn to Colourpop's Echo Park Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick, it has been my go to shade for the past couple of months. I'm obsessed with this warm peach nude. This compliments the colours in Give It To Me Straight so well and it's been perfect to wear in the warmer weather we've had recently. I'm so impressed with the quality. This formula is gorgeous and creamy, almost velvety but leaves you with a matte finish but without the drying and the cracking! Again for just $6.50, it's a real bargain. I choose this over my high end up lippys constantly. You can read a full review and see this on the lips here beauties.
The final Colourpop product in my favourites is the Ultra Glossy Lip in Fairy Floss. This has been my go to for everyday wear. I've really been loving this especially on a sunny day. It's so easy to apply to give your lips a little touch of something, without going too OTT! It's a sheer pale beige pink so it's great for pretty much all makeup looks. I've been wearing this to work as it's just so easy to wear and doesn't get all over my teeth when I speak or eat.
The final product in my May favourites is the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara. As you can see I have loved this so much the packaging has started to come off, which is a bit of a shame. You all know I'm a total Maybelline mascara girl and I'm obsessed with Lash Sensational. Well this is Lash Sensational but better. Total Temptation is infused with coconut extract, it makes your lashes look amazing and long and full but they feel so soft and natural still (it also smells delicious!). I love that it doesn't weigh your lashes down or irritate them like some mascaras can do and it doesn't dry and flake either. My lashes are long and full but so soft at the same time!

I think I'm going to start doing my favourites as a video as well as a blog post from now on, so check out my YouTube channel for some new beauty videos coming up!

  1. I recently bought a Colourpop eyeshadow palette -- the I Think I Love You palette and I was actually pleasantly surprised. I knew they weren't bad quality, but I have so many eyeshadow palettes that I wasn't sure if it would measure up. I also bought some lip products from them and I love them.

    Great picks! x

    1. I know what you mean. I hardly ever use high street eyeshadows because there are just so many gorgeous high end products that are amazing quality, but I choose this palette over them so many times! x

  2. I really need to check out that mascara! I haven't tried Echo Park, but I do love the Colourpop formula!

    1. I love it, it feels really lovely on your lashes. I've been wearing Echo Park non stop. x

  3. I've been wanting to try the Total Temptation mascara for ages - I'll get round to purchasing it eventually!

    1. It feels so nice and light on the lashes but you still get an amazing look. x
