MAC Haul!

MAC Haul Burgundy Times Nine, Amber Times Nine and Whirl Lip Pencil
Christmas has been and gone and I've been buying gifts for people for the last couple of months, I thought it was about time to get myself a little treat. I was browsing the MAC site for a gift for my best friend and couldn't help but pick up a couple things for myself to, sometimes you gotta treat yourself right?

MAC Haul Burgundy Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette
I read a post a week or two ago that featured the MAC Burgundy Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette and I just thought it was the most gorgeous palette I had ever seen! The palette just looks like Winter shimmery mauve heaven and I had to get my hands on it! I'm not going to lie, I thought this palette was going to consist of 9 full size eye shadows and I'd have bagged myself the bargain of the century. In actual fact the shadows are probably half the size, but they are super cute and the palette does make the perfect hand bag accessory. The palette is filled with gorgeous burgundy hues in an array of different textures from matte to frost and satin to veluxe pearl. From left to right:
Honey Lust (lustre) | Golden peach shimmer
Poppysead (satin) | Matte rose nude
Quarry (matte) | Soft light nude brown
Antiqued (Veluxe Pearl) | Dark copper bronze
Embark (matte) | Dark brown with an earthy red feel
#Noir (velvet) | Deep black/brown with golden shimmer
Haux (veluxe pearl) | Rose nude matte
Star Violet (deluxe pearl) | Copper plum
Sketch (Velvet) | Burgundy with red shimmer
The shades are gorgeous and offer countless burgundy eye looks in one neat little package. I think Honey Lust, Antiqued and Star violet have got to be my favourite. The shades are beautiful and the formulas feel so soft and silky. I haven't used most of them on my eyes yet, but I have noticed the colour pay off isn't quite like the full size pans. For just £25 though, I think this is a staple for Winter time!

MAC Haul Amber Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette and Whirl Lip Pencil
I couldn't just stop at one palette, I had to pick up Amber Times Nine as well! I just couldn't choose between the two! Amber Times Nine is a beautiful selection of Amber neutral hues that will have the golden nude lover in us screaming! Again this palette has a mix of mattes, satin, frosts, lustres and velvet shades. From left to right:
Cozy Grey (matte) | Matte cool grey
Kitties (Frost) | Champagne gold
Georgia Peach (matte) | Pale rose pink
Ricepaper (frost) | Pale champagne peach
Creative Copper (lustre) | Light golden shimmer
Cork (satin) | Golden brown nude
Don't Tell (lustre) | Dark golden shimmery brown
Aromatic (matte) | Dark matte brown with subtle grey undertone
Pepper Please (velvet) | Shimmery bronze charcoal brown
This will be the perfect everyday palette. I'm a sucker for a champagne/bronze eye and I know I'll get a lot of use out of this, especially in the Summer. My favourite shades are Creative Copper, Cork and Don't Tell.

I've been meaning to buy more MAC lip liners since I got my first one Soar a while pack. I just love it so much, it really helps define your lips and up your lip game! I picked up Whirl, it's a shade darker than Soar. A dirty rose with more of a burgundy feel. This is going to be perfect this time of year. I love a warm dark rose nude lip! This will be great to create that Kylie Jenner lip. I think this is going to be perfect with Velvet Teddy and Brave!

I'm so excited to use my new MAC goodies, I can't wait to create a beautiful Winter look with my Burgundy Times Nine and Whirl lip liner!

What are you favourite MAC shadow and liners beauties?

My Top 5 Christmas Movies

My Top Five Christmas Films, Love Actually, Arthur Christmas, The Santa Clause, ELF & Home Alone.
It's the month we've been all been waiting for, for the past eleven, it's December and Christmas is in full swing! I start thinking about Christmas in August but December is the month we can officially start to celebrate and not get judged for it! The build up to Christmas is one of the most exciting parts for me. I love to Christmas shop, decorate, plan and watch Christmas films. Today I want to share with you five of my most favourite must have Christmas films to watch during the Christmas period.

1. Love Actually | We've kind of made it a bit of a tradition of watching Love Actually an ordering Prezzo pizza on Christmas Eve. I look forward to this so much. Love actually is a classic British romcon with a festive feel to it. We follow the love lives of more than a dozen characters during the Christmas period with a climax at Christmas eve. Love Actually is filled with all the laughter and all the feels. I can't go a year without being snuggled up and watching Love Actually!

2. Arthur Christmas | I watched Arthur Christmas last year for the first time and absolutely loved it, I think this is my new favourite Christmas film! This animated family comedy will show you what really goes on in the North Pole and high tech operation of delivering the world their Christmas presents, in just one night. We get to know the dysfunctional Santa family and learn which of Santa's two sons will take on the role of Santa Clause when their Father retires.

3. Elf | Is it really Christmas if you don't watch Elf? ELF is a Christmas family classic. We follow Buddy and his adventure in to New York to find his biological Dad. Buddy grew up in the North Pole and believes he is an Elf (all 6ft of him!). Until Santa sends him off to find his Father, after his size starts to become a liability in the elf-sized working environment. Elf will truly have the whole family laughing - the perfect after dinner Christmas film!

4. The Santa Clause | To me this is a Christmas classic and I find myself watching The Santa Clause every year. We follow Scott Calvin (a non believer) and his son Charlie (Santa's number one fan). Scott Calvin is forced to take on the role of Santa Clause when the previous falls of his roof, Scott finds himself putting on weight, growing a beard and fastly becoming Santa Clause! We watch as this interrupts Scott's life tremendously, will he manage to get into the spirit of things?

5. Home Alone | The Home Alone films are THE family Christmas classics! You can't go a Christmas without watching at least one! We watch the McCallister family prepare for a trip away but fail to keep track of Kevin McCallister. Kevin is left Home Alone during the Christmas period and must learn to fend for himself, but he also has bigger problems. We see him continuously fight of two incompetent burglars. This film is full of classic comedy that will have all the family laughing.

Of course there are so many more amazing Christmas films but these are the ones I watch without fail every Christmas. You just can't beat a good Christmas film and a warm hot chocolate to get you in the festive spirit.

What will you be watching the Christmas beauties?

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette Review
As a lover of makeup and beauty I'm all about trying new brands and products. I've been meaning to try Sleek Makeup for so long now but it was never in my local Boots, until recently! As soon as I saw  Sleek Makeup up close and personal, I just had to get my hands on the Solstice Palette. I thought this would be a good place to start since everyone seems to rave about it and you know I can't resist a good highlight!

Sleek's Solstice palette has four beautiful highlight shades, two baked powders, one creamy formula and one silky shimmer powder. At first I thought they were all creamy because they just look so soft and luxurious, but to my surprise only one is. I do love a powder highlight, so I'm glad most of them are powders. Sleek have built this palette with the thought of each different shade being used for different parts of your face.
1. Ecliptic | Ecliptic is the one cream formula in this palette. It's a gorgeous rose nude that will lift your brows when used across the brow bone.
2. Hemisphere | A cool toned pink/purple baked highlight with silver shimmer designed to add shimmer to your cheek bones.
3. Subsolar | A warm toned luxe powder used to create highlight down the bridge of your nose.
4. Equinox | A shimmering warm peach highlight created for the cupids bow.

All of these shades are to die for, I can't even pick my favourite. The quality of the powders is so luxurious, they feel very silky and high end. I love the different shades and of course the high pigmented metallic finishes are so dreamy. Personally after following the steps on the box and using the shades for different parts of my face, I think I would prefer to just go with one or two of the shades for everything. I think the shades themselves are just so versatile they shouldn't be restricted to one job. I love the mix of cool tones and warmer shades in this palette, it makes it perfect all year round and for every mood. I'm very impressed with quality of my first Sleek product and think the Solstice palette is great value for money, you get four decent sized beautiful quality products for under £10. This is definitely one of the best highlighting palettes I've seen/used on the high street.

I'm very impressed with my first Sleek product and now feel the need to explore the whole brand. What do I need to get my hands on next beauties?
