Soap & Glory | No Clogs Allowed

Recently my skin has been very troublesome, I have never really had problematic skin but I just cant shift these spots at the moment! I'm getting breakouts not only in the usual T-Zone but also my cheeks which is very odd for me. I've become very fed up with my skin and it's troubles recently and have been trying out new things to help me out. On my quest to find the perfect skin care, I stumbled across this little mask, Soap & Glory's No Clogs Allowed.

Soap and Glory describe this as being a 'Super self heating deep pore detox mask' Now this sounded perfect for what I needed, a good deep clean to get all the ickyness out! This mask is for oily/combination skin types, and this is how S&G describes how it works, 'deep cleans, melts away pore-plugging sebum and softens keratinised skin cells to prevent breakouts and blemishes.' Sounds good right!?

Let's see how I got on.
To use this, you need to massage a grape sized amount onto your face, then wet your hands and scrub until the cool green turns blue and you feel the mask heating up. Now this all sounded kind of strange to me you have to wet the mask once it's on your face? Isn't that how we remove the mask! Anyway I did as I was told and before I knew it, the mask did turn slightly blue as I dabbed a little water on top and scrubbed away.

As soon as you apply this thick, creamy/clay feeling mask onto your face, it does start heating up in a nice way, and not a 'Oww my face, I'm meeelting!' kind of way some masks can! The heat stops after around 30 seconds and you're left to enjoy the light feeling, creamy mask without burning or drying and cracking up!

After removing the mask my skin felt baby soft, clean and smooth to touch. my skin isn't over oily but it can get a little oily during the day, I found this mask to remove all excess oil without drying my skin, it really brings your skin back to a nice normal 'default setting' softness.

I always think you can tell how a mask has worked the morning after. When I woke up my skin was still baby soft and no excess oil at all which was pretty impressive, it kept the oil away during a whole nights sleep. This mask wasn't a massive miracle worker or anything, but I was impressed with the way it balanced out any oil in my skin without drying, and managed to keep my skin feeling great all night. My spots and blemishes obviously hadn't disappeared, but I have noticed a slight reduction after using this mask.

Overall I think this mask is a lovely cleansing mask, that doesn't strip your skin and isn't super harsh. It's not a miracle worker, but it's a great standard mask to have in your collection to restore softness and balance in your skin.
