Maybelline Big Eyes Volume Express Mascara

So I was in the market for a new mascara so made my way into Boots. I was planning on repurchasing my trusty favourite, Rimmel's Glam Eyes Day 2 Night but then stumbled across this one whilst eyeing up the Maybelline stand. Maybelline have always been a strong competitor in the drug store mascara department, so after noticing this one was new, I thought I'd give it a go.

The Big Eyes Volume Express Mascara is Maybelline's first eye-opening double brush mascara. It comes with 2 brushes, the 'Push-up Brush' for your upper lashes, this is supposed to push lashes up and widen, whilst the 'Mini brush' magnifies tiny lower lashes.
Upper Lash Brush 'Push-Up Brush'

Lower Lash Brush ' Mini Brush'

8 hours after application
After using this for over a month, I feel like I have really got the hang of using it and have really enjoyed it. I love the upper lash brush, as it gives you great volume and it really does open up your eye and help give your lashes a good old lift! It's easy to use and doesn't take forever to get full, fluttering lashes us girls want. As you can see from the photo, After over 8 hours from application, my lashes are still going strong without the dreaded panda look. The brush helps lengthen and volumise without clumping.

The lower lash mini brush is a handy little extra, which makes this mascara differ from others out there. You don't need an extra lower lash mascara, you have it all in one handy little tube! The mini brush is small enough to cater for your lower lashes, without being too much. I don't know about you, but I love adding mascara to the bottom lashes, I feel like it really finishes and defines the eye look. The problem I have with ordinary mascara is, the brush is too big for the bottom lashes and makes them look too volumised and clumpy. This little brush lengthens without clumping, which is great for the lower lashes.

The bottom line. This mascara is a handy little thing to have. You have your brush to volumise, lengthen and really open up the 'windows to your soul', as well as the lower lash brush that doesn't add too much and spoil your look, all in one mascara! If your in the market for a new one or want something that doesn't mean you need yet another product taking up valuable space in your make-up bag, then this is the one to go for! For just £8.99 from Boots you can't go wrong!

Top 5 Spring Lipsticks

You may remember a month or two ago, I created a post on my favourite Everyday Pink Lips. I enjoyed that so much, I thought I'd give it another go and let you know my favourite Spring shades. I love Spring because I'm a big believer of bright lips and Spring really let's you get away with some gorgeous shades! So in no particular order, here are my Top 5 Spring Lipsticks.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm - Tease
So this one is part of Revlon's new Colorburst Lacquer Balm range that has been all the rage recently, which was no surprise after what a success the original Colorburst balms were. This is a gorgeous, shiny orange that is actually a lot brighter in person. It has the same minty scent and feel as the originals but with an added shine. It's perfect to add a pop of colour to any look this Spring.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer - Luna
OK, so this one isn't a lipstick, but it's just so gorgeous I couldn't not mention it! I have been loving this gloss recently, it's THE perfect shade for Spring! This peachy, orange shade is so on trend right now and it just makes your lips so juicy and fun. It's so easy to apply and makes being on trend for Spring so effortless.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Lipstick - 16
I have mentioned before how much I love this lipstick. This beautiful coral pink is one of my all time favourite shades and also most used. Rimmel really know how to do lip products. The lasting Finish Kate collection has the most perfect formula that leaves your lips so moisturised. This formula is so similar to the MAC cremesheens I almost can't tell the difference, even the smell of them is very similar! The only difference really is the price, you can grab these Rimmel babies for a thrd of the price! You can't go wrong with that.

MAC Cremesheen - Crosswires
If you don't mind spending a little extra then you really should give Crosswires ago, it's similar to Rimmel's Lasting Finish 16, but a little brighter and a darker coral shade. It has the same kind of moisturising formula and scent, it really is a pleasure to use. It's the perfect shade for Spring/Summer and makes any look more flirty and fun for Spring. MAC's cremesheens give you a gorgeous moisturised glossy finish leaving your lips feeling ready to pucker up.

Topshop Lips - Pillow Talk
This soft pink will give any look a fresh, Spring finish with it's gorgeous pale tone. I love this one for casual Spring days out in the sun. I find this can be a little bit dehydrating, so I need to use it with a lip balm otherwise it can look a tad disastrous on me! As long as I've got my balm on, this gives me a gorgeous girly look, perfect for Spring.

I hope you've enjoyed my Top 5 Spring Lipsticks, I'd love to know your favourites and also if you think I would love any shades you are all about this Spring!

NOTD - Breakfast In Bed

Let me introduce you to my new favourite shade, Rita Ora's Breakfast in Bed for Rimmel.
This is a gorgeous pastel blue that will brighten any outfit this Spring/Summer. As you may know, I love me some pastel and this just hits the spot! It's a little brighter and neater in person and I have had many people compliment my nail shade when wearing this. To me it's the perfect shade between mint green and pastel blue and would look gorgeous on many different skin types. I think it would look exceptionally pretty if you have a bit of a tan going on! After trying this, I would love to pick up some more of Rita's shades, especially because they are part of the 60 seconds range. This range is one of my favourite's for nail polishes, thanks to the endlessness amount of colours and the rounder brush that makes application quick, easy and smooth. If you're wanting a new colour for Spring/Summer '14, you need to pick this up, I really think it's going to be all the rage! - £3.69

TAG - A Very Nosey Beauty Tag

Kerry from has once again tagged me, thanks girl!:)
This one is quite a long one but I think it's going to be fun!

Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eye-liners and lip products or lose all of your palettes and eye-shadows?
I'd rather lose all my palettes and eye-shadows, I went years without wearing eye-shadow so I'm sure I could do it again if it meant I could keep my mascara, lippys and eye-liner!

Would you rather chop off all your hair, or never be able to cut it again?
Can I let it grow when it's cut? If I just have to chop it the once I would, then it wouldn't be long before it's back to normal. If not though, I'd never cut it again. I hardly get my hair cut anyway, I just find it a huge effort haha and I don't really like going to the hair dressers. I love it when my hair has been cut but the thought of it, I don't like.

If you had £500, would you spend this on clothes or make-up?
I have no idea! It would have to be both.

Would you rather only use one eye-shadow colour, or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
One eye shadow colour, I love my lipsticks! I hardly mix up my eye colours anyway, where as I always wear different lipsticks, they just brighten up your day and really finish of the look!

Bright nails or nude nails all year round?
Bright. I love my pastel, brights and dark nail colours. I hardly ever wear nudes.

Would you rather give up lip-gloss or nail polish?
Lip-gloss, I hardly wear gloss anyway and I can't live without a colour on my nails, it just feels wrong!

Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one?
I love full, volumized lashes and Rimmel's Glameyes Day 2 Night mascara really gives me the look I love! Although I have been using Maybelline's Big Eye's mascara lately and have really enjoyed it.

What’s your ideal coverage foundation?
Medium/full coverage. I got a lot going on lately that needs to be covered up!

Favourite high street/drug store beauty brand?
I think Rimmel would have to be my favourite high street brand. They're a good all-rounder and have great affordable products you can rely on. Here's my Rimmel Brand Focus

Favourite High end beauty brand?
Oooooh that's tough! Nars/MAC/YSL, I'm sorry I can't choose!

Is there any make-up you can leave the house without wearing?
I leave the house without make-up on regularly, although I don't feel as great as when I have make-up on, but I don't NEED to wear it. I do like a bit of mascara though at least, if I literally have NOTHING on.

What is your most cherished beauty product?
My Urban Decay Palettes and YSL lippys I think. They're just so beautiful!

What skin type do you have?
Normal/oily. I think I'm more normal than oily but then I tend to get spots very easily.

Do you always use the same skin routine or do you like switching it up?
I switch things up from time to time, because I'm still searching for the perfect products. I don't switch regularly though because that can cause more harm than good. I like to use a whole product up before trying something new to really give it a chance.

Top 5 Beauty Gurus?
I don't believe in 'beauty guru's' but the girls who got me into beauty blogging/YouTube and who always inspire me to try new things are Essie Button, Zoella, Tanya Burr and Louise (Sprinkle Of Glitter). I know that's only 4 but I don't really have a fifth that I'm that obsessed with haha!

If you could only buy one make-up brand forever, which would you buy?
I could easily use Rimmel product's every day! They were the first brand I loved and I still do to this day!

Which brand has your favourite packaging?
It's got to be YSL, their products are just so beautifully packaged that you want the product more for the packing really! Well I do anyway!

Name a make-up crime you hate
Concealer lips! Just why?

Quick Fire

Blush or bronzer?  Blush

Lipgloss or lipstick? Lipstick

Foundation or concealer? Foundation

Brushes or sponges? Brushes

OPI or Essie? Essie

Lotion or Body Butter? Body Butter

I hope you have enjoyed this fun little tag and learnt something new about me! I know tag:

This is just a little post to say, I passed my driving test!
Some of you will know that I have been learning to drive and I recently failed my first test a few weeks ago. I was so frustrated with myself and felt like I was NEVER going to pass, it's such a horrible feeling! So I re booked straight away and have been a little quiet this past week, because I've been trying to keep a clear head and concentrate on passing and that, I did ahhh!!
I just want to share my excitement and say, I will be back on track with blogging now that the test is out of the way and I can breathe again! So my first test, I was waaay too rushed and completely messed up, I couldn't even turn into a blimmin' road! I tried to turn right into a road, rushed, didn't look and went passed the point of turn, then ended up on the curb in the middle of the street, oh dear! I can safely say I deserved a fail with a big fat F on that one!
So I rebooked as soon as I got in the door after my massive mess up. I was so frustrated with myself for being such an idiot! I have never done anything like that before, I couldn't believe I lost my cool so much in that split second. I felt like I was never ever going to pass after that, I just wasn't lucky enough.
I then had my next lesson after failing and breezed it, what an annoyance! The next lesson wasn't so good according to my instructor, then my test came up quickly after another lesson or 2. I just thought to myself, 'You can do this, you're capable, you're safe, just keep a clear head and relax and don't over think!' So that's what I did, I tried to keep my cool and take it one step at a time.
I was very lucky to have a chatty outgoing examiner, he was a big guy with tats and that eased me a little because I could have a laugh with him, he was a big teddy bear!
I just wanted to tell you the good news and apologies for the lack of activity lately and I shall be back now hopefully! Also if you're learning to drive/taking your test, don't give up you will get there! Just keep calm, relax and be safe and you'll breeze it.Good luck!

I'd love to read your driving test experiences.

TAG - The Spring Beauty Tag

So the wonderful Kerry from kerryjustbeauty has once again tagged me, she likes to keep me busy I think hehe! Thanks for tagging me to do The Spring Beauty Tag, Spring has got to be one of my favourite times of year especially for make-up & nails, you can have so much fun!
      So here I go...

Do you change your make-up when Spring arrives? If so, how?
I'm not sure if I completely change it, but I do like pastel nails, bright lips, neutral shadows etc, they're just really cute colours that work so well in the sunshine! Although I don't shove these items back in the drawer for the Winter months, I'm a big believer in bights/pastels in the Winter too, they really brighten things up!

      What's your favourite Spring perfume?
My all time favourite perfume is Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy, it's so sweet and girly and I always get complements when wearing this one. I wear this one all year round, It's probably my staple scent! You can get a 100ml bottle for less than £30 so it's worth having a sniff! Britney has a few really nice scents and they last so long to. Although I love my Midnight Fantasy, I think Chanel Eau Tendre is a great Spring/Summer scent as it smells very fresh, floral and girly aswell.

What's going to be your favourite accessory this Spring?
I think my favourite and most used accessory this Spring will be my Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM. Is a bag an accessory? Well if not, then I'm cheating a lil haha! I love it when Spring comes around because I can get my baby out of hiding and not have to worry about rain. I love this bag it's very versatile and can go with a lot of things. It's also nice and big so I can fit a lot in which is great for nights away, but also not too big, so I can use it as my everyday bag too. This bag was a gift from my lovely boyfriend for our first proper Christmas together, so it really means a lot!

What are your top 3 favourite Spring nail polishes?
At the moment I'm loving - Barry M Gelly Hi Shine - Papaya
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine - Dragon
Collection 2000 Hot Looks - Button Moon

Do you prefer pumps or sandals?
I love both. Sandals for when I'm feeling summery and girly and pumps to make an outfit a bit more casual and cooool.

      What's your favourite Spring Jacket?
At the moment I'm loving my cream blazer from River Island. I picked this up last year I think and I was very lucky to get it in the sale, for just £10 and they only had my size left, it was meant to be! It's very versatile and you can chuck it on over plenty of outfits. I also love that it's not too lightweight that you need a coat but at the same time, it's light enough for you to move about.

      What's your favourite flower?
That's a hard one! I think I'll go for the Lily, as it was one of the first flowers my boyfriend got me.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this, I now tag -
