My Birthday Makeup!

My Birthday Makeup including NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, NARS Orgasm Blusher, Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara, MAC Mehr Lipstick and MAC Soar Lip Liner.
By the time you're reading this, it will be my Birthday, wohoo! I thought I'd share with you some of the makeup picks I will be wearing today. Simon and I are going to a wildlife park, because I just can't resist cute animals and what better way to spend your Birthday, than around cute animals and ice cream (maybe I'll even get a balloon!). Then we'll be going out for a meal in the evening, so I need a look suitable for both occasions! Although I'm not going out out, I still wanted to wear some of my favourite things that I haven't for a while.

My Birthday Makeup including NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and NARS Orgasm Blusher.
Starting with my base. I've dug out my favourite high end foundation, NARS Sheer Glow. I haven't worn this for the longest time, I've been super loyal to my Rimmal Lasting Finish Foundation. But as it's my birthday, of course it's time for a perfect flawless finish. This gives a gorgeous natural glowy finish, but at the same time it's very buildable to hide all flaws - who needs flaws on their Birthday? Not me! To give me that summer rosy cheeked glow, I've opted for NARS Orgasm Blusher. This is such a handy blusher to have, it's perfect for all occasions. NARS blushers are by far my favourite, the powders are soft and pigmented, but not over powering. Orgasm is a peachy pink shade with a golden shimmer, so perfect for Summer time.

My Birthday Makeup including Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette and Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara.
Moving onto my eye makeup, of course I've been absolutely loving the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette. This is the ultimate Summer palette due to it's golden peach shimmers and warm bronzed shades. For as long as I can remember I've pretty much stuck to a bronzed/copper eye. It's about time I switch it up, I've always been drawn to olive green shades, but never really go for them when it comes to actually applying my makeup. Today I'm going to go for Bless Her Heart, a gorgeous olive green, with a peachy golden shimmer. Too Faced have really won me over this year, I can't fault them. The formula is so beautifully creamy, their shades are always so lovely to apply. Of course the pigmentation is perfect and so soft to blend - and I can't get over the sweet peach scent! I'm undecided what shades I'll use to create my olive green eye, maybe Bellini or even Candied Peach!
To Frame my fabulous green eye, I'm using the new Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara. I'm a Lash Sensational girl thick and thin, but if you want to go that extra mile and get boss lashes, then you need to give The Big Shot ago. This gives me effortless long and full lashes to the extreme! I've always been a maybelline mascara girl and I've tried a lot of their mascaras! This one is by the one to go for if you want full and long bold lashes - perfect for Birthdays!

My Birthday Makeup including MAC Mehr Lipstick and MAC Soar Eyeliner
For lips I'm using one of my favourite nudes, MAC Mehr. Mehr is described as a dirty blue pink, I consider it more of a soft mauve pink. Mehr is one of the most flattering lipsticks I own, it compliments so many skin tones and so many different makeup looks, I think this is going to look gorgeous with my olive green eye. Mehr is a matte formula, but is definitely one of the least drying matte lipsticks I own. To line my lips, I'm using MAC's Soar - a definite staple in anyones makeup collection! Soar compliments so many lipsticks, it's by fair my most used liner. It's a mid toned pink/brown that steers either way. It's a little darker than Mehr, giving a gorgeous statement finish. I always like my liner to be a little darker to give my lips a bolder and neater look.

Hopefully a nude lip and bold lash look will see me through a day at the wildlife park and a romantic evening dinner. I'd love to know your favourite picks right now beauties and if any of you have your Birthdays coming up soon?

My First Week At The Gym

My First Week At The Gym
Last week I did something absolutely mental, from the comfort of my bed and pj's I joined the gym! The gym and I have a bit of a strained relationship. I've joined for a few months before with complete motivation and desire to become a full on gym bunny, but then found myself becoming bored, underwhelmed and disappointed with the whole thing.

I recently started a new job and thought why not start the gym too! I love the thought of going to the gym, keeping active and having something to do etc, but I do tend to get bored of doing the same thing. I would always start of with the cross trainer, move on to the treadmill (no running though, not with these boobies!) maybe do some crunches and a few minutes on the rowing machine and that would be it. Everything else is just completely foreign to me. The intimidating machines and mechanisms I just don't understand. I would be too scared to even try anything else with the fear of sitting the wrong way round or pulling the wrong lever and causing a mighty F*** up! I've always wanted to be one of those girls by the gym mirrors doing countless different exercises and maybe even lifting a few weights and looking super sexy doing it, but the thought of even going over to that bit of the gym is just too intimidating! The thought of even trying to do a squat or a lunge frightens me, I would totally do it wrong and fall over or look like a complete freak and I wouldn't even know where to start.

This time it's different
Simon and I went to the gym together for my first time back and I headed straight to the ladies section! I've tried to workout with Simon before and it's a completely different world! As soon as men get into the gym they change, they're in the zone and fierce. There's big bulky men everywhere trying to out do everyone else, grunting and straining attached to these weird metal contraptions - I just do not belong in this section! So I let Simon do his thing whilst I made my way to the ladies section and went straight for my old friend the cross trainer. After about ten minutes - I am done! I love the cross trainer, it really gets your heart rate up but I can't keep it up for a long period of time. Next was you guessed it, the treadmill. Now I'm not the running type, so I just stick to speed walking at an incline. I can keep this up for a good 20-30 minutes but of course it does get a bit boring. After that I wasn't really sure what else I should do, I don't really know how to do anything else! I made my way back to Simon, but quickly learned not to get in the way of a man and his workout, so I hopped back onto a treadmill. All in all I wasn't too disheartened with my first day back at the gym, because I just wanted to ease my way back in. I did a good 45 minutes of cardio, which was good enough for now.

My first gym class
I've always wanted to be the girl that goes to pilates or spin class, but the fear of collapsing and having a heart attack 10 minutes in, has always been too much! I could never go to a class alone! I told a couple of my friends that I joined the gym and they should too, thankfully Jazz was all on board and asked me to go to Body Pump with her and her friends a couple days later! Both Jazz and I are complete gym class newbs and were so pumped to go to our first gym class, but also a little nervous to what to expect! We arrived first and were told we had to set up. Both of us were like wtf! Not having a clue where to start or what we were going to be doing, we found ourselves with all these different foreign objects in front of us -a stepper, bar and weights (god know the actual names of these things!). Then it was time to start! The instructor asked if there was anyone new and she came over to introduce herself and told us she was going to keep an eye on us. I don't if this was a nice feeling or slightly intimidating the thought of a super fit gym bunny watching Jazz and I struggle, but I guess it's her job and she's there to look out for us.
We started by lifting our bar and weights and completing some lunges and squats to music. Now I had never done anything like this before so it took me a couple times to even feel like I was squatting right. After ten minutes me and Jazz were definitely feeling it and the instructor told us we were actually going to start the class now - WTF! We both looked at each other with sympathy! 45 minutes later we had now completed the class and managed to squat, lunge, and deadlift our way to the end without any major hiccups or catastrophes! I'm not going to lie we were feeling it, I felt like I couldn't even see straight about 20 minutes in! I was so proud we got to the end and completed everything though! It's tough but the good thing about body pump is you only spend around ten minutes on each part, so then when you feel like you just can't go on anymore you can move on to a different part of the body.
We had so much fun and were both are buzzing to go again! Classes are perfect for people who want to start doing more things at the gym and learning how to use equipment. I'm rubbish at knowing what I'm supposed to be doing, so having a 45 minute class just copying the instructor then your workout is done, is perfect for me! I would totally recommend gym classes to anyone!
We left feeling like jelly, I could hardly change gear in my car! I'm not going to lie that class hit me, for a week after I couldn't even touch my own face because my arms ached that much - we may have slightly over done it.

I managed to go the gym once more my first week at do my usual crosstrainer/treadmill sesh, but I feel so much more open to trying new things and mixing it up a bit. I even bought some Protein World Slender Blend Protein Shakes! Protein shakes are great for an after gym pick me up, they repair your body and also help fill you up a bit so you don't go snacking on all things bad. The thought of a drinking a protein shake has always cringed me out, but I actually really enjoy Protein Worlds Strawberry Slender Blend, it tastes like nesquik!

My first week at the gym has been a success, I'm getting over the whole fear of the gym and trying new things and I'm really excited to try more gym classes! I'd love to know what you beauties do at the gym and if you have any recommendations for a gym newb?

Soap & Glory Glamp It Up

Soap & Glory Glamp It Up
Is there anything better than stocking up on your favourite makeup bits? Well getting a free gift may just be the icing on the cake, of course! So when I saw this adorable little Soap & Glory Glamp It Up gift I just knew I had to get my hands on it. As any makeup obsessed junkie would, I fell right into the trap and just had to tell you beauties about the latest free beauty gift in Boots.
Soap & Glory Glamp It Up
This month you can get your hands on three full size Soap & Glory products worth £26 when you spend just £14 on Soap & Glory.
I was in the market for a new Archery Eyebrow pencil anyway, so it would of been ludicrous not to take Boots up on this offer! I picked up my holy grail eyebrow pencil, the Soap & Glory 2 in 1 Archery Brow Filling Pencil and Brush. This is the perfect brow pencil for me, I must have gone through around severn or eight of these already! The retractable pencil is lovely and thin making it so easy to shape your brows and give you a perfect arch. The pencil also comes with a brush on the other end that I just can't be without! I love using an eyebrow brush before and after applying the pencil to give me more of a natural and blended brow. The brush is great for tidying your brows too. At just £8 for the brow pencil, I thought I'd treat myself to a new lippy as well to get my hands on the free gift. I picked up the Soap & Glory Mother Pucker in Barely Pinking, a nude pink. I haven't yet tried any Soap & Glory lippys but the nude collection looks beautiful. The formula is super creamy and shiny, it reminds me of the MAC cremesheens and Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate lipsticks.
Now onto the free gift. Soap and Glory always do some of the best free gifts, I can't stand it when you get a free gift, but you don't actually want to use most of the products. The Glamp It up gift comes with three full size products that I will definitely be using this Summer! First off is the Glow All Out Highlighter. I don't know how I haven't picked up more of the Soap & Glory powders by now. I have Peach Party and I've always loved it, so I'm very excited to try Glow All Out. Glow All Out is a subtle pink luminizing powder, I think this is going to be perfect to add that pretty pink glow we all crave during the Summer. The powder itself is very soft, I can't wait to use it! Next we have a full size Supercat Liquid eyeliner. Again this is one of my holy grail products I've bought again and again. If you find it difficult to apply liquid eyeliner, then this is definitely worth giving a go. The felt tip style nib makes eyeliner a breeze to apply! The carbon black shade is gorgeous to give you that bit of edge to your Glamping makeup look! Supercat doesn't smudge and stays put all day long. Last but not least we have another Sexy Mother Pucker Nude Lipstick, this time in Love & O-Beige. I can already tell this is going to be my go to lippy, especially for everyday! Again the formula is super creamy with a natural shine, making these so easy to wear. Love & O-Beige is a subtle nude shade that will go with every outfit for any occasion.

If you want to get your hands on Soap & Glory's free gift worth £26, all you need to do is spend £14 on your favourite Soap & Glory products in Boots. Can you afford not too beauties!?

What's you favourite pick from Soap & Glory's Glamp It Up gift beauties?
