5 Family Halloween Films

Family Halloween Films Hotel Transylvania, Hotel Transylvania 2, Hocus Pocus, The Little Vampire, The Nightmare Before Christmas
Halloween is fast approaching and it's time to get into the spooky spirit! To me Halloween is a time of fun and enjoyment that involves food and films! You don't have to love horror films to enjoy Halloween. Today I'm going to share five family festive favourites.

1. Hocus Pocus. Now this is THE mother of Halloween films. To me you can't go a Halloween without watching Hocus Pocus, it's a family favourite. Hocus Pocus is filled with fun and laughs thanks to the three gruesome witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker & Kathy Najimy) that are  accidentally conjured up one Halloween night by 3 feisty kids. The witches are set to put a spell on the whole town, can the kids stop them?

2.Hotel Transylvania. Now I think this is my favourite Halloween film. In a nutshell - Count Dracula (Adam Sandler) runs Hotel Transylvania and invites all his monster friends (Frankenstein, The Mummy & his wife, The Invisible Man, the Werewolf Family and many more) to his Daughter, Mavis' (Selena Gomez) birthday party at the hotel. The party is going great until an ordinary human stumbles into the hotel and changes everything. Hotel Transylvania will have the whole family laughing all night long. The script and comedy are brilliant and the thought and imagination that have gone into this film really make it fantastic!

3.Hotel Transylvania 2. Count Dracula opens up Hotel Transylvania to monsters AND humans for the first time since his daughter has settled down and started a family with a human. Dracula hopes that his vampire genes would be passed down in full force to his half vampire/half human grandson Dennis. Dracula rounds up all his monster friends up again to help him push his Grandson to find his vampire abilities in their very own monster boot camp. Again this is a Halloween masterpiece, filled with so much comedy and laughs.

4. The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is THE perfect film if you're a massive Halloween & Christmas fan! This is essentially bringing the two together. Jack Skellington the Pumpkin King from Halloween Town stumbles upon Christmas Town and wants to learn more. He becomes converted to Christmas and wants to spread the Christmas joy in his Halloween Town. Will the residents of Halloween Town be able to pull of a Christmas like the residents of Christmas Town? (Kidnapping Santa on Xmas Eve probably isn't the best way to start!).

5. The Little Vampire. This ones a little more suited for the kids! A bit more cheesy, but it definitely will get you in the Halloween spirit. Little Tony moves to Scotland with his family and struggles to make friends, until one night a kid vampire flies in through his window and a new friendship is born. He then learns his new best friend Rudolph the vampire and his whole race are threatened to be wiped out by the vampire hunter, can Rudolph and Tony stop him?

What are your plans this Halloween?

Happy Halloween!
