LUSH Halloween Haul 2016

LUSH Halloween Collection 2016 Boo, Monsters' Ball, Sparkly Pumpkin, Autumn Leaf, Pumpkin
I'm so excited it's finally Autumn time and Halloween is just around the corner. LUSH have launched their Halloween 2016 range and of course I made my way to get some LUSH goodies first thing. I picked up a few new Halloween treats that I haven't used before (I've usually been more into the Christmas range), but this year I was getting me some Halloween goodies! I think now that I'm in my own house, I just feel way more festive and I want to go all out for Halloween & Christmas!

LUSH Halloween Collection Haul 2016 Boo, Monsters' Ball, Pumpkin
The first thing I picked up was the cutest little bath melt I have ever seen, Boo. Boo feels gorgeously creamy (you don't want to leave it in your hands for long). The scent is very warming thanks to the earthy ginger and calming mimosa. I took Simon along with me to LUSH and I said he could pick anything he wanted and I'd get it him, he of course chose Boo and tried it that night. The scent does have a Halloweeny/Autumn vibe to it, but in a warming and soothing kind of way - very comforting. After his bath, Simon said he felt amazing - I can't wait to try mine out!
The next thing I had my eye on was Monsters' Ball. I love how cute this little guy is and his lonesome little eye! Of course, naturally the first thing you do when you pick up a new bomb is give it a good sniff, immediately I was in love with the lime and neroli oil scent! I'm mad on the citrus scents they're my all time favourite, so this was right up my ally! The scent is gorgeously fruity and citrusy, but with a clean and refreshing feel too. I haven't used this yet, but I know I will probably end up picking up a couple more this season. I love the purple and the blue shades too, I'm hoping this is going to leave my bath a gorgeous lilac colour. Monsters' Ball could well be my favourite from all the Halloween treats this year!
The bath bomb that I was most excited to pick up was the Pumpkin. LUSH' Instagram is full of spooky pics of this orange little wonder and it just looks so festive, I had to pick it up. If you've been craving that spicy festive scent, then this is the one for you. It has a gorgeous cinnamon spice scent with a touch of vanilla, making this the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. This has got to be the all time most festive bomb for me this year, this is one for Halloween night. Pumpkin is a fast fizzer so there will be no waiting around to enjoy the toasty warmth of the spicy festive pumpkin.

LUSH Halloween Collection Haul 2016 Autumn Leaf & Sparkly Pumpkin
The next Halloween newby to add to my collection is the Autumn Leaf. Autumn Leaf has a bit of a multicoloured thing going on, I think this is going to look gorgeous in the bath - but to me the shades are a bit more Summery, I would of preferred a more red bronzed leaf for Autumn. Never the less, of course Autumn Leaf has an uplifting, earthy sandalwood, yet citrusy scent. This is great for people who don't want to fully commit to the earthy herbal Autumn scents. This is going to be a slow fizzer and I think this is going to be absolutely beautiful in the bath!
Last but not least is a Halloween staple, Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar. This sparkly little gem will give you soft luxurious bubbles with a refreshing citrusy warm scent. You'll be left feeling relaxed, calm and uplifted - it's the perfect winter warmer. The water will turn a soft orange shade that will make you feel oh so festive!

Over all I'm very impressed with the LUSH Halloween range this year. I love every single product I've bought and I love the effort they've put into making each item so cute and festive. All the scents are just so warming and lovely. I'm a winter lover and I do love my spicy Autumnal scents, but I do prefer a sweeter/citrusy bath, so I'm very pleased with the not too overpowering spicy scents. They have the perfect blend of sweet and spicy.

What are your favourite LUSH Halloween goodies this year?

Autumn Makeup Maybelline, NARS, Rimmel, Revlon
We're half way through September so I don't care what anyone says, it's officially Autumn! I'm a massive Autumn fan, to me all year is the lead up to Autumn and I just can't get enough. I want to go through my dressing table and bring out some gorgeous Autumn Picks. I'm thinking darker blush, bronze eyes and of course dark lips!

Autumn Makeup Maybelline Contour Stick, NARS Sin Blush, Rimmel 107 Lipstick
One of the things I've been looking forward to this year is to wear my new darker plummy blush, NARS Sin. Now I bought this months ago specifically for Autumn time. All I wanted last year was a darker blush and I just never got round to finding one. So I've had Sin in my dresser for months and now's the time I can finally enjoy using it. It's a gorgeous plum with a golden shimmer. I love these dark plum blushers on pale skin during the colder months, I can see myself using this a lot. You can't go wrong with a NARS blush. The formula is always so soft and pigmented and they really blend nicely. You get a lot in the pan, I can't have enough NARS blushers!
Another newbie this year is Maybelline's Master Contour Sticks. I was lucky enough to get sent this and I've been loving it. It's the first cream contour product I've tried and I've really fell in love with it. I love that your contour shade and highlight are in the same product, it makes it so easy to apply. I like to line where I want my contour (I don't have this mastered yet, but I try!), I make a line under my cheek bones, the sides of my nose and the edges of my forehead. Then I just blend with my fingers. This is so creamy and easy to blend - you can't go wrong! I was worried I'd be left with stained dark lines on my face but the shade blends in so softly. The contour shade leaves you with gorgeous definition (you can even use it to slim down your face!). Next I use the highlight shade on my cheekbones, down my nose, forehead and my cupids bow. Again I blend with my fingers and this really brightens your face and helps lift your look. This is the perfect product if you're just starting out contouring. It's very easy and quick, the formula is so gorgeously creamy  you can't go wrong.
Of course you need a bold lip for Autumn and I have just the two for you. A cult classic Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish 107 is THE lipstick for Autumn. If you're after a beautiful berry red that compliments all skin tones and brightens your teeth, then you need to get your hands on this. This is just a super easy lippy to apply and pull off. The formula is very creamy and moisturising, despite its bold matte shade it's a joy to wear. There's nothing worse than a gorgeous shade, but it feeling sooo uncomfortable you end up just taking it off. I wore this so much last year and I'm very excited to be wearing this again. It's the perfect festive berry red for everyone.

Autumn Makeup Maybelline Color Tattoo, Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color
The next Autumn lip product I want to talk about is Revlon's Ultra HD Matte Lip Color in Addiction. I tried these earlier this year and loved them if you would like a more in depth review. The first thing I loved about these matte lip colors was the lightweight, almost whipped formula. It feels as if you're not even wearing anything on your lips - especially not a matte product! The applicator is lovely and soft making these very easy to apply. After bout 5/10 minutes the product will dry and you're left with a beautiful matte lip. Addiction is going to be beautiful Autumn shade, I can see myself using this a lot. I love the berry wine shade, this will be lovely coming into Halloween. It can be pretty hard to find a creamy dark matte lip that will go the distance, but Revlon have got this sorted for us! These really do last all day without budging. They don't look messy and out of place as time goes on, they kind of act like a lip stain - but more lightweight!
A new eye product in my stash this Autumn is Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Fantasy. If you haven't tried the Color Tattoos then you must be living in the stone age. These have been some of the most talked about and loved cream eye shadows of the decade and this season we see some new shades. Fantasy is a golden brown with subtle silver shimmer. If you're a fan of On and On Bronze, this will be right up your street! This is so beautiful for Autumn, I love a gorgeous neutral bronze shimmer this time of year! The one thing I love about these is you only need the one shade. You just dot this on and blend out and you're left with a gorgeous eye look. There's no need for a different crease or highlight shade, this will do it all for you. The creamy formula makes it so easy to blend out and create a beautiful look all in one - quick and easy!

I can't wait to use all my Autumn favourites as the weather gets colder. What are you looking forward to wearing this Autumn?

Moving In Together Tips
Moving In Together Tips

As you may know I've recently moved in with my partner Simon just under a month ago. I think in the grand scheme of things, we've had a pretty un-stressful and successful time moving out. I'm no pro at moving out, in fact this is the first time I had ever moved house. I thought it would be great to share with you some tips I used to make the move and lead up less stressful and also some things I wish I considered before hand.

1. Get organised! (Lists are your best friends!). There's a lot you need to think about before moving in, especially for the first time. You need to think about the furniture and what you need to buy, setting up your bills and what you will need straight away and what can wait. A list is your best friend. We had to buy everything from our sofa to our extension leads. I found it best to make a list for each room of what was needed to get, so we could tick them off as we went. You also need to remember about bills and what you need to set up, for example, gas and electric, internet, council tax and that's just the start of it! Make yourself a list of what you need and also when it's due. You may find it pretty handy to get yourself a family calendar.

2. Buy as much as you can before you move! Even if it's just cutlery, towels or utensils. For months leading up to the move we would buy something every week, we must of spent every weekend for 6 months walking around the same home shops! I could probably tell you the whole inventory for NEXT, Dunelm Mill and Homebase! Start as early as you can buying things. Especially if it's your first home, you will need to buy everything from furniture to tea towels. I'm a big fan of lists and I just had to get everything crossed off before the big move. Luckily this meant we had our home fully functional and up and running from day one! Even if you're as prepared as I was, there will still be things you will need to buy, there's always something. It helps sooooo much to spread the costs and start shopping as early as possible, kitting a home out is very pricey!

3. Talk about the house hold chores and responsibilities before hand - make some ground rules! There's nothing worse than moving in to feel you have no idea who's paying for what or feeling as if you're taking on more of the responsibility. To make it as smooth as possible, we found it very helpful to agree to go halves on everything because we earn around the same amount, so it's the fairest way we could think of. Having this planned out before hand meant there has been no arguments about money and no added stress. I also agreed that I don't mind taking on a little bit more of the household chores if Simon at least would clean up after himself, wash up and help out etc. Usually whoever doesn't  make dinner will wash up after and this just makes it so much easier for us, so we don't feel like someone isn't doing as much. To settle this before moving in can make the process a lot easier! You don't want to find yourselves squabbling over petty house hold chores and putting an extra strain on your relationship.

4. Be realistic and prepared that moving in together is an adjustment. Simon and I have always had a pretty comfortable and strong relationship. We don't seem to argue, bicker or wind each other up too much. As much as you think you'll be fine and nothing will change in your relationship, you both have to be prepared that it's a big change and it may take some getting used to. Be prepared that you may find yourself bickering or stressing out more than usual, but just remind yourself this is normal and to be expected. You just need a few weeks to find your 'new normal'. If you're having a few doubts or sudden realisations once you've moved, it's important to relax and just let them know how you're feeling.

5. Finally, don't stress too much! Sit down, relax and enjoy each others company still. You may find that even though you are now living together and seeing more of each other, it can feel like you're not spending any quality time together. I found at the beginning I was too obsessed with getting everything perfect in the house and making sure it was clean and tidy and that we had everything ticked of our lists - I wasn't really relaxing like we used to. You need to remember that Rome wasn't built in a day and at the end of the day, all that really matters is that you are both happy. Take the time to ask each other about your days, watch movies together, run each other baths etc. It's the little things that mean a lot. It may help to agree on a time in the evening that you're just going to stop house chores, sit down and enjoy the evening together.

I hope that some of my tips may help you have a less stressful time moving out! Good Luck with your new home and new step in life beauties!
