My First Glossybox | May 2014

Over the past couple of months, I've been hearing/seeing people mention something called a Glossybox. I never really took too much notice though, then thought hey, what IS this Glossybox thing!? After looking it up and watching many a video of Glossybox un-boxing's, I though I'd sign up for myself!

If you are new to the Glossybox thing, then I'll just quickly explain it for you. Glossybox is a monthly subscription beauty box for any beauty junkie out there, who loves trying high street and high end brands. You pay £10 plus P&P (roughly £3.25) a month and receive a box full of 5 sample/full size goodies every month. When you sign up at www.glossybox.co.uk, you will fill out a short survey about your favourite beauty products, then each month you should receive products relevant to your preferences in your box.(Word on the street is, this doesn't happen sometimes...) Glossybox have teamed up with over 200 brands to bring us endless products to try, including Essie, Rimmel, Maybelline, Clarins, L'Occitane, Murad, L'Oréal, Stila and many, many more.

After I went through the endless amount of Brands Glossybox offer, I decided to sign up. Glossybox offer limited edition box's every month or so and May's box was in celebration of Superdrug's 50 year anniversary. So enough of the rambling, here's what I got in my first Box!

Full Size Products...
Rimmel - Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara  I was very excited when I found this little one in my box, as Rimmel are one of my favourite high street brands and I knew I would love this mascara. RRP £6.99
Superdrug - Large Doughnut Ring  Although I love a good doughnut ring bun, this one was quite disappointing for me. I already have myself a trusty doughnut ring and also my hairs not black. Thanks Glossybox , now I know why other Glossybox Subscribers think the survey is a load of "you know what!" RRP £3.99
Max Factor - Facefinity All Day Primer  I'm very happy with this one as it's a full size product that would of cost £10.99, so that's pretty much my whole box paid for! I have used this one once and it does leave your skin feeling beautifully smooth! I did have some wear at the end of the day, but I will continue to use this to get a good feel for it! RRP £10.99
I Love Cosmetics - Strawberries & Milkshake Shimmer & Shine Lip Gloss  To be honest with you, I'm not that impressed with this one, I'm not really a lipgloss kind of girl, I love my lipsticks. I especially don't like the little squeezy tube glosses like this one. This smells quite nice and the shade isn't too bad so I may give it a go. RRP £1.25
GOSH Cosmetics - Velvet Touch Eyeliner   If this was a different colour I'd be really happy with this, but it's violet and I can't say I have ever used a violet eyeliner. I guess that's one of the good things about this box though, it gets you to try things you wouldn't normally buy. RRP £4.99

Bonus Samples...
Garnier - Oil Beauty Lotion I'm not usually one for a foil sample sachet like this, I always chuck them in my skincare drawer then never really use them. For a freebie though I can't complain.
GHOST Fragrances - Eclipse  I love me a good fragrance so I'm very happy with this one, I love a cute little sample fragrance bottle!

Overall I think my first Glossybox is great value for money and I love how it's like a little surprise every month to look forward too. I will be continuing my Subscription for a couple months to see how it goes and hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Top 5 Summer Nails

I recently posted my Top 5 Spring Lips and thought I'd do a little Top 5 Summer Nails, as it was so fun to do! So here I am with my Top 5 Summer Nails...

Barry M Gelly Hi- Shine - Papaya
This is a gorgeous bright orange, perfect for Spring/Summer. It will leave your nails so shiny and really give you that fresh manicure look, thanks to the Gelly Hi Shine formula. Orange is so on trend right now and I've been loving this shade to brighten things up!

Rimmel 60 Seconds Rita Ora - Breakfast In Bed
This has been another one of my favourites so far this Spring/Summer and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it when I first saw the Rita Ora range. This is a gorgeous pastel blue that would look great with plenty of different outfits this Spring/Summer. It's so fresh and fun, I really think it's going to be a big hit this season.

Barry M - Mint Green
I've had this one in my collection for some time but never really gave it a go. I recently applied this one and
was pleasantly surprised. It's not quite a pastel or a bright which I usually go for, it's a little in between which is nice. I love colour in the Summer, so this one is perfect for adding a pop to any outfit and making you feel summer ready.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Rita Ora - White Hot Love
I recently purchased this for just £1.80 during all the Rimmel 180 year birthday hype. We all need a good white polish in our collection this Summer and this is the one to choose! It's very fresh and clean and doesn't look like the dreaded 'Ti-Pex nails' that a lot of white polish can look like. This is a beautiful bright white, that will instantly give your skin a healthy glow. This is definitely one to pack in your suitcase to complement your tan this Summer.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Dragon
As you can tell I have a thing for the Barry M polishes, they just have such a great range, different formulas and shades. I just can't get enough. We all need a candy pink in our collection and despite the name, Dragon is the perfect girly bright pink. This is another one from the Gelly Hi- Shine range, so it leaves your nails so fresh and shiny, you won't be able to stop staring at them.

I hope you have enjoyed this quick Top 5 Summer Nails You can find more information on some of the shades, by going to the links in this post.

NOTD - White Hot Love

Today's nail of the day is Rimmel's 60 Second Rita Ora - White Hot love.
As you know I love me a Rimmel 60 Second polish thanks to the flat, round cornered brush that makes application quick, easy and effortless. So when I saw that Rimmel were celebrating their 180th birthday by selling a product every week for just £1.80, I snapped this one up. What a bargain!
This is a gorgeous bright white, perfect for Summer. To me this white all most feels quite 'minty', I don't know if that makes sense, but it reminds me of fresh mint ice cream (I know I probably sound crazy) Let me know if you get me though haha!
This shade would look gorgeous when you have a bit of a tan going on, so this will definitely be going in my suitcase this summer. It also makes you look more tanned as it's so fresh and white.

If your looking for a great Summer shade that will compliment any skin tone, then give White Hot Love a go.
